A L I G N M E N T
The FT-23R has been aligned by highly-skilled
technicians at the factory, and is designed so that no
further alignment should ever be required. However, in
the unlikely event of a component failure, realignment
may be necessary. All component replacement and ser
vice should
be
performed only by· an authorized Yaesu
representative, or the warranty policy may be voided.
Required Test Equipment

RF Signal Generator with calibrated output level at
1 50 MHz
•
Spectrum Analyzer
•
RF Sampling Coupler
•
Oscilloscope
•
AF Millivoltmeter
•
Deviation Meter
•
SINAD Meter
•
Inline Wattmeter with 5% accuracy at 150 MHz
•
Regulated DC Power Supply adjustable from 10 to
1 5V, 2A
•
50-Q Non-reactive Dummy Load: l OW at 1 50 MHz
•
Frequency Counter: ±0.2ppm accuracy at 1 50 MHz
•
AF Signal Generator
•
DC Voltmeter: high impedance
•
External Loudspeaker or 8-Q load resistor.
Case Disassembly
•
Make sure the transceiver is off. Remove the hard or
soft case, if used, and remove the battery pack.
•
Remove the four screws affixing the battery spring
plate on the bottom of the transceiver, and carefully
remove the plate.
•
Pull off the knobs, and remove the four screws affix
ing the top panel. Remove the panel and rubber
gasket under it.
•
Remove the two screws affixing the front and rear
halves of the case, and gently separate the halves,
using care not to stress the interconnecting wires.
