Now that you’re mastered the basics of
VX-6E
operation, let’s learn more about some of
the really neat features.

In order to prevent accidental frequency change or inadvertent transmission, various as-
pects of the
VX-6E
’s
DIAL
and keypad may be locked out. The possible lockout combi-
nations are:

To lock out some or all of the keys:
1. Press the [
F/W
] key, then press the [
0

SET
)] key to enter the Set mode.
2. Rotate the
DIAL
knob to select Set Mode Item 35:

3. Press the [
0
(
SET
)] key momentarily to enable adjustment of
this Item.
4. Rotate the
DIAL
knob to choose between one of the locking
schemes as outlined above.
5. When you have made your selection, press the
PTT
switch to
save the new setting and return to normal operation.
To activate the locking feature,
press and hold
in the
[ (
LK
)
TXPO
] key for 2 seconds. The “ ” icon will ap-
pear on the LCD. To cancel locking, repeat this process.
