Jump-Starting the Lift Truck
Jump-Starting Using a Battery Charger
CAUTION
DO NOT try to start the engine by pushing or towing
the lift truck. Damage to the transmission can occur if
engine is started by pushing or towing lift truck.
If the battery becomes discharged and requires a booster
battery to start the engine, follow these procedures care-
fully when connecting the jumper cables:
1.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal of the lift truck
being started.
2.
Always connect positive jumper cable to positive terminal
of discharged battery and negative jumper cable to nega-
tive terminal.
3.
Always connect jumper cable, that is the ground cables,
last.
4.
Always connect jumper cables to discharged battery
before connecting them to booster battery.
Jump-Starting Using Another Lift Truck
WARNING
To prevent possible arcing between the two lift trucks,
make sure that the lift trucks are not touching.

of discharged battery and negative jumper cable to nega-
tive terminal.
2.
Always connect jumper cable, that is the ground cable,

3.
Always connect jumper cables to discharge lift truck bat-
tery before connecting them to the fully charged lift truck
battery.
