Chapter 7 Installation
3.
Connect the new cable to the wire board. Ensure the wire is properly screwed and
secured.
4.
Take the cable behind the wire and positioning boards and connect the other end into the
socket on the positioning board.
7.5 Slopes
Note: A situation where the entire site is on a severe slope is not suitable for Echo EU
robots.
The maximum slope that can be tolerated on a site is 30% (17°).
Peripheral wire
If the sloping part of the site is well away from the peripheral wire, no special measures are
required.
If the slope is near the peripheral wire, the robot should return to charging station by
descending the slope.
Charging station
If the entire site is sloping - the station should be located at the top or the bottom - not on the
slope. It is preferable to locate the station at the top of the slope rather than the bottom, to
avoid problems with flooding. The robot has no “brake” in charge mode, and could easily slide
off its contacts on sloping ground.
Figure 68: Location of charging station on sloping site
The station should sit on flat ground. The longitudinal slope (by which the robot enters the
station) should be 0%.
