7.4.2 Installing the positioning board outside of the
charging station
Depending on the layout of the site, there are situations when the positioning beacon inside
a station might not be seen properly by the robot. In such situations the problems can be
resolved by locating the positioning beacon outside of the charging station. Typical cases are:
•
When the station is located around a corner, and the robot can not detect the beacon to
start the wire track manoeuvre before it reaches the corner.
This can be resolved by locating the positioning beacon on the first wall the robot meets
when it is tracking the border.
•
When the positioning beacon is in a station that is located on an elevation point. In this
case it may be that the radio waves are emitted at a height at which the robot cannot
detect them.
This can be resolved by locating the positioning beacon at a point low enough for the robot
to detect it.
In all cases, the recommended installation height is below 1m.

To install the positioning beacon outside of the charging station
To carry out this installation you need :

A positioning beacon board.

A box to house the positioning beacon board. (Product number YB-062-00011)

An offset cable.
1.
Attach the gland of the offset cable to one of the three holes indicated by in the figure
below.
Note: The selected hole must be on the bottom of the box when it is fixed in
position.
2.
Mark the position of the four holes for the mounting screws on the mount support.
