Exercising According to a Training Program—Training
Mode
In the Training mode, you can create more detailed structured exercise
sessions and make custom programs to fit your individual exercise needs.
Preset Training programs are also available for certain exercise situations or
goals. You can use these as a starting point. (You may want to inspect these
programs within the included software, to more easily view the contents and the
targets over the programmed exercise).
Each program in the Training mode contains several segments, each lasting for
a specific amount of time or for a specific distance. Each segment also has a
different target. This can be a certain intensity of exercise (as measured by
heart rate reserve), a specific music tempo, a specific heart rate, or a specific
pace (as measured by minutes: seconds per mile). Simply put, a Training
program divides an exercise session into multiple parts, each programmed
exactly to suit your exercise needs or fit a specific athletic training application.
You can create your own Training programs, and the included software gives
you the tools to most easily and intuitively do this. Creating your own custom
Training programs gives you enormous flexibility and control over your exercise
sessions. When used correctly, it’s almost like having a professional athletic
coach by your side, telling you not only when to speed up and when to slow
down, but exactly how much you should speed up or slow down—all the while
playing your favorite music to keep you on program.
