Loosen the flywheel magnet nut.
CAUTION:
Apply force in the direction of the arrows
shown to prevent the flywheel holder from
slipping off easily.

Remove the flywheel magnet, then the
Woodruff key.
CAUTION:
To prevent damage to the engine or tools,
screw in the puller set bolts evenly and
completely so that the puller plate is par-
allel to the flywheel magnet.
NOTE:
Apply force to the crankshaft end until the fly-
wheel magnet comes off the tapered portion
of the crankshaft.
5.
Disconnect the stator coil coupler and
pulser coil coupler, and remove the stator
coil assembly

.
6.
Remove the solenoid valve, and then
remove the timing belt
2
from the driven
sprocket, then from the drive sprocket.
CAUTION:
Do not turn the drive sprocket or the
driven sprocket when the timing belt is
not installed. Otherwise the piston and
valves will interfere with each other and
be damaged.
7.
Check that the “
1” mark
a
on the
driven sprocket is aligned with the “
”
mark
b
on the cylinder head, and that
the “
” mark
c
on the retaining plate is
aligned with the “
” mark
d
on the
crankcase.
