CHOKE KNOB
Pulling this knob supplies a rich fuel-air
mixture required to start a cold engine.
NOTE:
Refer to “STARTING THE ENGINE” in the
chapter 3 for proper operation.

THROTTLE LEVER
Moving the throttle lever toward the han-
dlebar increases engine speed. When the
throttle lever is released, it returns to its
closed (idle) position through the action
of a return spring.

Before starting the engine, always check
the operation of the throttle lever. It
should move smoothly through its full
range of operation, and should spring
back to the idle position when released.

STARTER SWITCH
To start the engine, push the starter
switch (green button) .
NOTE:

The engine will not start when the lock
plate is removed from the engine stop
switch. The starter motor will not turn.

The engine will not start if the “LOCK”
mode has been chosen. To set the
mode to “START”, refer to the “PAD-
LOC” function in the “MULTIFUNCTION
METER” instructions.
