*1 Accessing the Device Manager
• Windows 7 Users
Choose [Start]
→
[Control Panel]
→
([Hardware and Sound])
→
[Device Manager]. Yamaha IMX644 USB Serial Converter is
shown in [Universal Serial Bus controllers].
• Windows Vista users
Choose [Start]
→
([Settings])
→
[Control Panel]
→
([System and Maintenance])
→
[Device Manager]. “Yamaha IMX644
USB Serial Converter” will appear under the “Universal Serial Bus Controllers” item, and “Yamaha IMX644 USB Serial Port
(COMn

)” will appear under the “Ports (COM & LPT)” item.
• Windows XP users
Choose [Start]
→
([Settings])
→
[Control Panel], and double-click [System]. In the “System Properties” screen, select the
[Hardware] tab and then select [Device Manager]. “Yamaha IMX644 USB Serial Converter” will appear under the “USB (Uni-
versal Serial Bus) Controllers” item, and “Yamaha IMX644 USB Serial Port (COMn

)” will appear under the “Ports (COM
& LPT)” item.

The unit is connected via a straight
RS-232C cable.

If you don’t know the correct password, initialize the inter-
nal IMX644 memory. Initialization will return the settings
to their factory-set state, so be sure to save any important
settings as a file before you proceed. The IMX644 will be
initialized if you turn on the power while holding down its
MEMORY [A] and [D] buttons.
