Troubleshooting

If the following trouble occurs when the PCY65/65S is used, please check the following

points before asking your dealer for assistance.

Also, please refer to the Owner's Manual that came with your DTX Series Drum Trigger

Module (DTXTREME/DTX/DTXPRESS) for more information regarding the problems

described above and any other problems that you may be experiencing.

If a solution can not be found to the problem after consulting the manuals, please contact

the dealer from whom you purchased the product.

The Choke function doesn't work.

What to check

Problem

Is the pad type for the module Input
to which the PCY65S is connected
set to anything other than cymbal
pad?

The choke function is unavailable if the pad type is set to anything
other than cymbal pad.

No Sound, Volume is Low

What to check

Problem

Is the PCY65/65S properly connected
to the DTX Series Drum Trigger
Module's input jack using the
supplied stereo phone cable?

Refer to the previous “

Connections

” section and make sure

that all connections are proper.

Is the Level Adjustment Screw on
the PCY65/65S set too low?

If the Level Adjustment Screw is set too low, the single pro-
duced by the pad will be too low to produce sufficient volume
from the drum trigger module’s tone generator even though
the pad is struck.

Is the module properly connected to
a pair of headphones or an external
audio device such as an amplifier,
speaker, etc.?

Check the connections between the external device and the
position of the power switch and volume level.

Are module settings correct?

Check the volume setting of the voice assigned to the input to
which the PCY65/65S is connected (refer to the previous “

Ad-

justing the Voice Volume

” section) or that the volume level for

the headphones is not set too low, etc.

●:

A single voice can be assigned to, and produced by
the pad.

○:

Independent voices can be assigned to and produced
by the pad and edge section (Dual Zone; The cup
and pad sections share the same voice).
A choke function (grabbing the edge section stops
the voice being produced by the pad) is also avail-
able.

* :

A mute function (holding the edge section produces

an alternate sound when the pad is hit) is also avail-
able.

NOTE:

Make sure a stereo phone cable is used when connecting the PCY65S to the module. The

switch functions described above will not function with a monaural phone cable. (Only the

voice assigned to the pad can be produced.)

Since the PCY65 does not incorporate a edge switch, use of a monaural phone cable is

allowed.
