SETTINGS OF THE BD PLAYER
*1 Some discs prohibit high definition video output from
COMPONENT jacks. In this case, video resolution is
converted to 480p/576p (when “Video Out Select” is set to
“Component”) or 480i/576i (when “Video Out Select” is set
to “HDMI”).
*2 No video output when 1080p signal is output from the HDMI
jack.
*3 CVBS Out means the video output signal from the VIDEO
jack.
Note
If your TV is not compatible with the selected resolution, images
may not be displayed correctly.

Secondary Audio
You can turn on and off secondary audio for the picture in
picture or audio commentaries.

When you set “Secondary Audio” to “Off”, this unit does not
output the clicking sound on the menu.
Select “Off” to enjoy high quality BD sound via the HDMI jack.

Audio Out
You can set the audio output suitable for your playback
environment.
“HDMI Output” options
When you set “Audio Out” to “HDMI Output”, select one
of the following options.
Note
When “Secondary Audio” is set to “On”, the “HDMI Output”
option is automatically set to “PCM”.
“Digital Output” options
When you set “Audio Out” to “Digital Output”, select one
of the following options.

Dynamic Range Control
You can adjust the dynamic range so that sound is output
at average volume. If you cannot hear dialog clearly,
change the setting of this menu.
Note
Turn the volume down prior to changing this setting; otherwise,
loud sound may be output from speakers or an excessive
electrical load is applied to them.

DOLBY DIGITAL, etc.

Outputs a PCM 2-channel audio signal.
Audio signals recorded in different format are
converted to PCM 2-channel audio signals
and output.
Select this option when connecting a 2-
channel stereo audio component.
Normal:
Outputs sound in the same dynamic range as
the original sound.
Shift:
Adjusts the dynamic range of Dolby Digital
audio so that dialog is clearly heard.
If sound is abnormal, set this to “Normal”.

:
Automatically adjusts the dynamic range of
Dolby TrueHD audio.
