PRE-OPERATION CHECKS
NOTE:
Pre-operation checks should be made each time the
machine is used.
WARNING
The engine and muffler will be very hot after the engine
has been run.
Avoid touching the engine and muffler while they are
still hot with any part of your body or clothing during
inspection or repair.

Make sure that there is sufficient fuel in the tank.
Recommended fuel:
Unleaded gasoline
Pump octane
R+M
; 88 or higher

Total: 44.3 L (9.7 Imp gal, 11.7 US gal)
WARNING
•
Fuel is highly flammable and poisonous. Check
“SAFETY INFORMATION” (see page 3-2) carefully
before refueling.
•
Do not fill the fuel tank above the bottom of the filler
tube

. The fuel could overflow if the machine is
tilted or if the ambient temperature rises, causing
the fuel to warm up and expand.
•
Make sure that the fuel tank cap is closed securely
after refueling. Leaking fuel can catch fire.

Fuel level
CAUTION:
•
Oxygenated fuels (“gasohol”) containing max. 5%
of ethanol can be used, although richer jetting may
be required to prevent engine damage. Consult a
Yamaha dealer. Gasohol containing methanol is
not recommended.
