The damping forces will not decrease past the
minimum levels even if the adjusting knobs
are turned out more than the minimum set-
tings.

Adjusting the rear suspension spring
preload
The rear suspension spring preload can be
adjusted by turning the spring preload adjust-
ing ring on the shock absorber.
NOTE:
The rear suspension spring preload can be
further adjusted by changing the position of
the spring seat.
Have a Yamaha dealer make this adjustment
as it requires special tools.

Adjusting the compression damping force
The compression damping force can be ad-
justed by pressing the grip warmer/rear sus-
pension compression damping adjustment
switch. (See page 14 for adjustment proce-
dures.)
