Preoperation checks
Place the gear shift lever in neutral and turn
the main switch to “
” (on). After all the dis-
plays come on and the total hour display
comes on, the gauge will change to normal
operation. If the buzzer sounds and the wa-
ter separator warning indicator blinks, con-
sult your Yamaha dealer immediately.
NOTE:
To stop the buzzer, press the “
” (set) or
“
” (mode) button.
Oil level warning
When the oil level is low while cruising, the
oil level warning indicator will start to blink.
The engine speed will automatically de-
crease to about 2000 r/min.
When the buzzer sounds and the oil level
warning indicator blinks, check the oil level
and add the oil if necessary. If the warning
device has activated while the appropriate
engine oil level is maintained, consult your
Yamaha dealer.
CAUTION:

Do not continue to run the engine if the oil
level warning device has activated. Seri-
ous engine damage will occur.
Overheat warning
If the engine temperature rises too high while
cruising, the overheat warning indicator will
start to blink. The engine speed will automat-
ically decrease to about 2000 r/min.
Stop the engine immediately if the buzzer
sounds and the overheat warning device has
activated. Check the cooling water inlet for
clogging.
