Cylinder head inspection
1. Eliminate:

Carbon deposits
(with a rounded scraper

)
CAUTION:
Do not use a sharp instrument to avoid
damaging or scratching the cylinder head
or spark plug bore threads.
2. Inspect:
●
Cylinder head water jacket
Corrosion/mineral deposits
→
Clean
or replace.
3. Measure:
●
Cylinder head warpage
(with a straightedge and thickness
gauge)
Out of specification/score marks
→
Resurface.
NOTE:
Place a 400 ~ 600 grit wet sandpaper on a
surface plate and resurface the cylinder
head using a figure-eight sanding pattern.
Warpage limit:
0.1 mm (0.004 in)
