ADJUSTING THE ENGINE IDLING SPEED
1. Start the engine and let it warm up for several
minutes.
2. Connect:
•
inductive tachometer to the spark plug lead
3. Idling speed (standard)
out of adjustment

4. Adjust:
• engine idling speed
a. Turn the throttle stop screw

in direction

until the specified engine idling is obtained.
5. Adjust:
• throttle cable free play
Refer to "ADJUSTING THE THROTTLE
CABLE FREE PLAY".

Before adjusting the engine idling speed, the air filter
case should be clean and the engine should have
adequate compression.
