G. Coolant level inspection
1. Place the machine on a level surface.
2. Remove:
•
Seat
•
Fuel tank side panel (left)
3. Check:
•
Coolant level
The coolant level should be between the minimum
level mark
a
and maximum level mark
b
.
Below the minimum level mark
→
Add the recom-
mended coolant to the proper level.
CAUTION:
•
Adding water instead of coolant lowers the
antifreeze content of the coolant. If water is
used instead of coolant, check and if
necessary, correct the antifreeze
concentration of the coolant.
•
Use only distilled water. However, soft water
may be used if distilled water is not available.
4. Start the engine, warm it up for several minutes,
and then turn it off.
5. Inspect:
•
Coolant level
NOTE:
Before inspecting the coolant level, wait a few minutes
until the coolant has settled.
6. Install:
•
Fuel tank side panel (left)
•
Seat
E. Differential gear oil level inspection
1. Place the machine on a level place.
2. Remove:
•
Oil filler bolt
1
3. Check:
•
Oil level
Oil level should be up to the brim of hole.
Oil level low
→
Add oil to proper level.
Recommended oil:
SAE 80 API “GL-4” Hypoid gear oil
Oil quantity (periodic oil change):
0.28 L (0.25 Imp qt, 0.30 US qt)
CAUTION:
Take care not allow foreign material to enter the
differential gear case.
4. Install:
•
Oil filler bolt
Tightening torque:
23 Nm (2.3 m • kg, 16 ft • lb)
F. Final gear oil level inspection
1. Place the machine on a level place.
2. Loosen:
•
Oil check bolt
1
NOTE:
•
Loosen the bolt slightly.
•
Do not remove the bolt, otherwise the gear oil may
come out.
3. Check:
•
Check that gear oil seeps out from where the check
bolt was loosened. If no gear oil seeps out, add the
sufficient amount of gear oil to the final gear.
Recommended oil:
SAE 80 API “GL-4” Hypoid gear oil
Oil quantity (periodic oil change):
0.25 L (0.22 Imp qt, 0.26 US qt)
CAUTION:
Take care not allow foreign material to enter the
final gear case.
4. Tighten:
•
Oil check bolt
Tightening torque:
10 Nm (1.0 m • kg, 7.2 ft • lb)
