CHANGING THE ENGINE OIL

Position the Snowblower on a level
surface.

When you have just stopped the en-
gine, do not drain the engine oil as
it will still be very hot. Change the
engine oil after the engine has cooled
down.

As correct disposal of used oils is man-
dated by regulations (such as pollution
prevention act), consult a Yamaha dealer
for oil disposal guidelines.

For the first engine oil change, change
the engine oil after 20 operating hours
(that is, when you have refueled four
times). After that, change the engine oil
each time the winter season begins.
1. Start the engine and warm up for 2–3
minutes.
2. Stop the engine and remove the engine
switch key.
3. Remove the screws 1. Then, remove
the screws 2 and collars, and the right
side cover.

Remove the engine oil filler cap.

the screw 2 and collar, and the left side
cover.

6. Place a suitable container below the
engine oil drain bolt to collect the used
oil.
7. Drain the engine oil completely by re-
moving the engine oil drain bolt, and its
gasket.
