CL600 Operator's Manual
Always keep the bucket level when approaching a
bank or pile. The preceding practice helps prevent
gouging in the work area.
■
Peel and Scraping
Use a slight bucket angle, travel forward, and hold
the implement control lever forward to start the cut.
Make a 5 to 8 in. (127 to 203 mm) angle cut and
break out cleanly.
With the bucket level:
●
Start a cut at the notch which is approximately 4
in. (102 mm) deep.
●
Hold the depth by feathering the bucket control to
adjust the cutting lip up or down.
●
When the front tires enter the notch, adjust the
boom lift cylinder to maintain the correct depth.
Make additional passes until the desired depth is
reached:
●
During each pass, use the implement control lever
to control the bucket position while at the working
depth.
●
The preceding practice allows the operator to
concentrate on controlling the bucket angle to
maintain a precise cut.
■
Load the Pile into a Low bed Truck or
Spreader
The following actions results in a more efficient
operation:
●
Park the low bed truck or spreader as close as
possible to the pile.
●
Minimize the turning angle of the tractor to pick
and dump the pile.
■
Backgrade
Backgrade occasionally with a loaded bucket to keep
the working surface free of ruts and potholes.
●
Also, holding the implement control lever forward
makes the full weight of the bucket scrape the
ground.
●
Use the heel of the bucket.
