2) Control function
• The discharge pressures P1 and P2 applied to the pistons which have the same areas cause the swash plate to
operate.
• Springs are installed to provide force against those discharge pressures. With no load, since the oil pressure
applied to the pistons is smaller than the working load of the spring, the swash plate is held at the maximum incli-
nation angle.
• When a load is applied to the actuator, the oil pressure applied to the pistons exceeds the working load of the
spring, which causes the swash plate to reduce its inclination angle. The swash plate is held at the inclination
angle where the spring force is balanced with the oil pressure.
• When a heavier load is applied to the actuator, the oil pressure applied to the pistons rises and the inclination
angle of the swash plate is reduced further.
