The warranty service life and runtime for the
powertrains/engines to be used by the Ministry of Defense of the
Russian Federation (MOD RF) are established according to the
warranty service life and runtime of the end product, but not more
than 10 years. For the engines which are supplied for spare parts to
the MOD RF and which have undergone complete preservation the
warranty service life starts on the date when the engine was
installed into the end product provided that the time elapsed after
the preservation date does not exceed 5 years.
The warranty-covered service life for the Engine/Powertrain
purchased for spare parts is 12 months provided that the
Engine/Powertrain has passed the quality control of «Avtodizel»
JSC (YMZ) and/or «Powertrain – GAZ Group» LLC, has a
stamp in its OEM certificate and that the owner has followed the
requirements related to the warranty shelf life. The warranty
service life for the Engine/Powertrain purchased for spare parts
starts on the date of putting it into operation or on the date when
it was installed into the vehicle (according to the confirming
document). In case the date when the engine was put into
operation and the date when it was installed into the vehicle are
impossible to define, the warranty period starts on the date of the
engine sale to the end-user.
Mounting of the engine in the final product, either initial or in replacement
of genuine or similar model is to be performed at a service center of
«Powertrain – GAZ Group» LLC, without any changes of the powertrain
system (i.e. no modernization)
In case it is impossible to procure a similar model and variant of the
powertrain/engine, in order to keep the warranty, the model and
assembly variant of the Engine/Powertrain to be installed must be
approved by «Powertrain – GAZ Group» LLC in written form.
The warranty-covered shelf life for the powertrains/engines purchased
for spare parts starts on the date of manufacture or on the date of
preservation by «Powertrain – GAZ Group» LLC and/or «Avtodizel»
JSC indicated in the OEM certificate of the engine («Preservation»
section) and lasts for:
6 months for the powertrains/engines subjected to external
preservation;
12 months for the powertrains/engines subjected to complete
preservation.
