12.2 Battery for MP2100/MP2100M
One battery can be connected to the MP2100/MP2100M. This battery is used to back up data to prevent the data
stored in the memory from being lost when power is turned OFF.
12.2.1 Battery Installation
Fully insert the connector attached to the end of the battery leads for the ZZK000064 Battery specified by
YASKAWA into the MP2100/MP2100M connector.
The battery connector on the MP2100M is the CN2 connector on the SVA Motion Module. The faceplate of the
MP2100M has a hole provided for the battery cable. Extend the JEPMC-W2092-B8 Relay Cable for Battery pro-
vided with the MP2100M and secure with a cable tie as shown in the following diagram.
12.2.2 Battery Life
The built-in battery can retain the contents of the memory until the total time of power interruptions reaches one
year. The warranty period of the battery is five years from the date of purchase. These values, however, differ
according to the operating conditions, including the ambient temperature.
If the BAT indicator on the MP2100/MP2100M lights, replace the battery with a replacement battery
(ZZK000064) within two weeks. Any delay in battery replacement will result in the data stored in the memory
being lost.
12.2.3 Battery Replacement
This section explains how to replace the battery.
(1) Preparations
(a) Saving the Memory Contents
Before replacing the battery, save the programs and data from the memory of the MP2100/MP2100M to
floppy disks or a hard disk. The saved programs and data will be used if the programs and data are acciden-
tally deleted during battery replacement. For the saved contents, refer to the
MPE720 Programming Device
Software User’s Manual for MP900/MP2000 series Machine Controller
(Manual No. SIEPC88070005).
