Removing and mounting the guard part
The sander has a possibility of removing the side part of the guard. For this purpose, the part of the cover to be removed must
be lifted up so that the fi xing clips are released and then the guard can be removed (VIII). This makes it possible to sand hard to
reach areas more precisely. For example, wall and ceiling or fl oor or wall corner joints. Removal and mounting of the guard part
may only be carried out with the disc and tool completely stopped and disconnected from the power supply.
Caution! The guard should always be complete during normal surface sanding.
TOOL OPERATION
Caution!
All the assembly steps described above must be carried out before you start working.
Starting the Sander
Do not start the sander while leaning the work head against any surface with the sanding sheet being in contact with any object.
This may lead to a loss of control of the tool and cause serious injury.
The sander is fi tted with a rotary knob (IX), which allows for the adjustment of the motor speed, which translates into sanding disc
rotation speed. Turning the knob towards the disc increases the speed, and turning the knob in the opposite direction decreases
the speed.
Check that the switch is in the “off ” position - it is not pushed in. Press the switch with your fi nger, release the pressure and check
if the switch has returned to its initial position.
Turn the speed controller as far as it will go in the direction of the sanding disc.
Connect the sander to the bag or an external dust extraction system. Start the dust extraction system.
Grip the sander with both hands - one hand on the main handle and the other on the additional handle. Make sure that the sanding
disc does not come into contact with any object.
Press and hold the switch. The sanding disc will begin to rotate. Allow the nominal disc rotation speed to be reached.
Retain the sander position and observe its run for approx. 1 minute. Should any signs of malfunction be noticed, such as increased
vibration or excessive noise, turn the sander off immediately releasing the pressure on the switch, unplug the power cord from the
socket, and search for the cause of the malfunction. It is forbidden to resume operation without rectifying the fault.
If there are no signs of malfunction, you can adjust the speed and start working.
Caution! After the tool has been switched off , the sanding disc may still rotate for some time. Wait until the disc has stopped
revolving completely before putting the sander down. It is forbidden to stop the disc by applying it to the workpiece surface, or to
slow it down in any other way than by allowing it come to a standstill on its own.
Switch locking
The switch is equipped with a lock which allows it to remain in the “on” on position without the need for continuous pressing. This
makes long-term work easier. The switch can only be locked when the switch is pressed. Slide the lock button (X) and release the
pressure on the switch. The switch will remain pressed.
Unlocking the switch takes place after pressing the switch, the lock button will automatically return to the initial position, and after
releasing the pressure the switch will automatically change the position to “off ”.
The switch has a safety device to prevent unintentional start-up in the event of a power failure. If the power supply is lost during
operation, the tool with the switch pressed (manually or by means of a lock) will not start automatically after the power supply
returns. In this case, release the pressure on the switch so that it returns to the “off ” position and then restart the tool according
to the procedure described above.
Sander operation
Where required, the material to be worked must be secured in such a way that it cannot move during work; use vices or clamps,
etc. The sanding disc rotates at a high speed and, if not properly secured, the material may move uncontrollably during work,
which would increase the risk of serious injury.
Wear personal protective equipment, such as sight and hearing protection, a dust mask, safety gloves and appropriate work
clothing.
Make sure you carry out all assembly and adjustment steps.
Make sure that the switch is in the “off ” position, then plug the power cord into the socket.
Always hold the sander with both hands gripping its main and additional handle.
Allow the sander to reach full speed and only then start working the material.
After work, use the power switch to turn the sander off , unplug it from the mains by pulling the power cord out of the socket, and
start maintenance works.
Sander operation guidelines
It is forbidden to hold the sander other than by its handles, in particular it is forbidden to hold the sander by the top of the housing.
Such a grip does not ensure safe operation and the ventilation openings at the top of the enclosure are obscured. This can lead
