When modifying parameters, remember the following:
Parameters in the configuration files override those stored in the IP phone’s flash
memory.
The .cfg extension of the configuration files must be in lowercase.
Each line in a configuration file must use the following format and adhere to the
following rules:
variable-name = value
-
Associate only one value with one variable.

Separate variable name and value with equal sign.

Set only one variable per line.

Put the variable and value on the same line, and do not break the line.

Comment the variable on a separated line. Use the pound (#) delimiter to
distinguish the comments.
The IP phones can accept two sources of configuration data:
Downloaded from the configuration files
Changed on the phone user interface or the web user interface
The latest values applied to the IP phones are the values that take effect.
When you use or configure different features on the IP phones, a variety of icons may
appear on the LCD screen. The following table lists and describes icons that you might
see while using different IP phone models.
