Selecting Whether to Use DNS

to return to the Network menu.

Press the
DNS
soft key. The DNS menu appears.

Press the
DNS
soft key to select ON or OFF.
• If you select OFF, DNS is not used. Therefore, the VB8300 on the network
cannot be searched using the host name entered in step 14.
• If you select ON, you can use DNS to search the VB8300 on the network
using the host name entered in step 14. Proceed to step 18.
• If you turned DHCP ON in step 4, the domain name, DNS server address,
and domain suffix are assigned automatically. Therefore, you do not have to
carry out the procedures below.
• Setting the Domain Name
If DHCP was set to OFF in step 4 and DNS was set to ON in step 17, set the domain name.

soft key. An entry box appears.

Enter the domain name using
numeric keys & ENTER

• Setting the DNS Server Address
If DHCP was set to OFF in step 4 and DNS was set to ON in step 17, set the DNS
server address.

DNS Server 1
soft key. An entry box appears.

Enter the primary DNS server address using
numeric keys & ENTER
. Enter
using values in the range of 0 to 255.

Press the
DNS Server 2
soft key. An entry box appears.

Enter the secondary DNS server address using
numeric keys & ENTER
. Enter
using values in the range of 0 to 255.
• Setting the Domain Suffix
If DHCP was set to OFF in step 4 and DNS was set to ON in step 17, set the domain
suffix.

Domain Suffix 1
soft key. An entry box appears.

Enter the primary domain suffix using
numeric keys & ENTER
