Location
The standard YORK MVVSD is intended for indoor
installations only. The cabinet is NEMA 1 rated. You
must allow for 1 in. (2.54 cm) of clearance across the
back of the enclosure for units with top exhaust fans.
You must allow for 18 in. (45.7 cm) of clearance across
the back of the enclosure for front/rear exhaust fans.
Ensure that the drive is positioned so that the cabinet
door(s) has ample clearance, and all of the controls are
accessible (72 in. [183 cm] minimum). There must be
24 in. (61 cm) of clearance above for top exhaust and
24 in. (61 cm) clearance across the back for front and
rear exhaust.
The temperature range for operation is 32°F to 104°F
(0°C to 40°C), with humidity not to exceed 95%, non-
condensing. If the location is such that moisture could
be permitted to condense on components inside the
MVVSD, it is necessary to add cabinet heaters to keep
the moisture out. Failure to prevent condensation in-
side the drive cabinet could result in serious electrical
failure which is
not
covered by warranty. If the appli-
cation is greater than 5000 ft (1524 m) above sea level,
the drive must be reviewed as a special quote. For ad-
ditional details about derating the unit, contact Johnson
Controls marketing.
Drive lifting and assembly
To move the sections use a forklift of adequate capac-
ity. For unit weights, see the unit model reference chart
. Lift the enclosure from the slots
provided in the channel base on the transformer sec-
tion. The inverter section is shipped with 4x4 posts at-
tached to the bottom.
Verify that the forks extend entirely
through the section. A safety strap must
be used when handling with a forklift.
The enclosure that houses the input transformer is too
heavy to be lifted by eyebolts through the cabinet roof.
For this reason, the transformer cabinet is
not
supplied
with lifting eyebolts.
This enclosure must be lifted by forks
positioned under the cabinet and base of
the transformer.
Contact the YORK factory if you need to lift the trans-
former cabinet from above. On cabinets that are capa-
ble of being lifted from above, lifting angles and lifting
eyebolts are provided on top of the enclosure for this
purpose. If lifting devices are not provided, the cabi-
net is too heavy to be lifted from above.
