one at 300m form the threshold, where the serviceability level of the approach
lights specified as maintenance objectives can be demonstrated, the system
may have tow side rows of lights, extending 240m from the threshold, and two
crossbars, one at 150m and one at 300m from the threshold.
-. The lights forming the centreline shall be place at longitudinal intervals of
30mwith the innermost lights located 30m from the threshold.
-. The cross bar provided at 150m from the threshold shall fill in the gaps between
the centreline and side row lights.
-. The cross bar provided at 300m form the threshold shall extend on both sides of
the centreline lights to a distance of 15m from the centreline.
-. The centreline of a precision approach category II and III lighting system for the
first 300m from the threshold shall consist of barrettes showing variable white,
except that where the threshold is displace 300m or more , the centreline may
consist of single light sources showing variable white,
-. The side row shall consist of barrettes showing red. The length of a side row
barrette and the spacing of its lights shall be equal to those of the touchdown
zone light barrettes
-. The lights forming the crossbars shall be fixed lights showing variable white. The
light shall be uniformly spaced at intervals of not more than 2.7m.
-. The intensity of the red lights shall be compatible with the intensity of the white
lights.
