Tuning for Latency
If streaming to the VLC media player, latency can be reduced on the decode side by adjusting the
network caching value. By default, this is set to 1000ms. You can lower this to as low as 200ms. To do
this, go to the following:

Record to Micro-SD Card
The Z3-Q603-RPS supports writing encoded video to a storage device connected to the Micro-SD card in
.ts or .mp4 file format.
(1)
Insert a microSD card into the microSD slot on the front of the unit.
*
Note:
The microSD card must be formatted in either FAT32, VFAT, EXT3, or EXT4 format.
(2)
If necessary, click on the “Stop” button in the lower right corner of the screen of the user interface
CH1 tab.
(3)
Verify the settings under “Encoder Setup” match your video sour
ce.
(4)
Under Output Setup, set Output Format to “TSFILE”.
(5)
Using the Output Device dropdown menu, select your microSD storage location, such as
“/dev/mmcblk1p1”
.
(6)
In the “File Prefix” textbox, enter the desired prefix for your .ts file name.
(a)
When saved, a number will be automatically generated and added to the end of the file
prefix, starting with zero. If subsequent recordings are made to the same microSD card,
existing files with the same prefix will be detected and the new recordings will auto-
increment to the next number.
(b)
By default, “MOV” is entered. This will result in a file entitled MOV0.ts on the
microSD.
Subsequent recordings will be entitled MOV1.ts, MOV2.ts, etc.
