5.3
DOMESTIC WATER FUNCTION
If domestic water is required in hydraulic plants with a flow
switch, the water function is activated and the combustion is
consequently regulated. When there is no longer a require-
ment, the domestic water function stops.
6 ROUTINE CLEANING
All the parts must be cleaned up when the
stove is completely cold and unplugged.
The product does not require much mainte-
nance if certified quality pellets are used.
6.1
DAILY/WEEKLY CLEANING
6.1.1
CLEANING BEFORE EACH IGNITION
Clean all ashes and build-ups in the brazier which could ob-
struct the air vents. If the pellets run out, unburnt pellets could
accumulate inside the brazier. Always empty the brazier from
residue before each ignition.
fig. 36 clean brazier dirty brazier
REMEMBER THAT ONLY IF THE BRAZIER IS POSITIONED
AND CLEANED PROPERLY CAN IGNITION AND IDEAL OP-
ERATION OF YOUR PELLET STOVE BE GUARANTEED.
To clean the brazier efficiently, remove it from its seat and
completely clean all the holes and the grating at the bottom.
When good quality pellets are used, it is normally sufficient
to use a brush to restore the brazier to ideal operating condi-
tions. After a long idle period,
using a vacuum cleaner with
a long tube,
remove any pellet residue sitting for a long time
as it could have absorbed humidity thus modifying its original
characteristics and becoming unsuitable for combustion.
6.1.2
CHECK EVERY 2/3 DAYS
Clean and empty the ash pan, paying attention to hot ashes.
Only if the ashes are completely cold
may you use a vacuum
cleaner to remove them. In that case, use a vacuum cleaner
suitable to vacuum particles of a certain size. Your own experi-
ence and the quality of the pellets will determine the frequen-
cy of cleaning.
It is however recommended not to go be-
yond 2 or 3 days.
When the operation is finished, reinsert the
ash pan below the bracer making sure it is properly in place.
6.1.3
CLEANING THE GLASS
To clean the ceramic glass, we recommend using a dry brush
or, in case of encrustations, a small amount of a specific spray
detergent Then clean with a dry cloth.
Do not use abrasive products and do not
spray painted parts or gaskets of the firebox
door (ceramic fibre cord) to clean the glass.
6.2 PERIODICAL CLEANING (EVERY 6
MONTHS)
Performed by Specialised Assistance Centre.
6.2.1
CLEANING FLUE DUCT AND GENERAL CON-
TROLS
• Clean the flue gas exhaust system especially near the tee
fittings, the elbows and any horizontal segments. Contact
specialised personnel for information regarding cleaning
of the flue.
• Check sealing of the ceramic fibre gaskets on the boiler
door. If necessary, order new gaskets from your dealer or
contact an authorised assistance centre to perform the
operation.
The frequency to clean the flue gas system
depends on how the boiler is used and on the
type of installation. We recommend entrusting
maintenance and season end cleaning to an au-
thorised assistance centre because, aside from
performing the operations described above, they will also
perform a general check of the components.
6.3
SEASONAL CLEANING (EVERY 12
MONTHS)
In addition to the operations foreseen every 6 months, the fol-
lowing must also be performed:
• Replace the ignition cartridge (when used daily with more
than 3 ignitions a day);
• Inspect and clean the flue;
• Inspect the flue draught and clean it if necessary.
6.4
PUTTING OUT OF SERVICE (SEASON
END)
At the end of every season, before deactivating the stove, we
recommend completely removing the pellets from the tank
using a long tube vacuum cleaner.
The appliance must be unplugged while it is
not used. For greater safety, especially in the
presence of children, we recommend removing
the power cable.
If when restarting the stove and pressing the main switch the
control panel display does not switch on, it could mean that
the service fuse needs to be replaced.
There is a fuse box at the side of the stove near the power
socket. After having unplugged the appliance, use a screw-
driver to open the lid of the fuse box and replace the fuse if
necessary (3.15 A delayed).
The operation must only be carried out by an au-
thorised and qualified technician.
