2.5 Personnel
2.5.1 Use
The operator must ensure that fixed ladders are only used by personnel familiar with
the fixed ladder system. Users must be physically able to climb the fixed ladder system.
Persons under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication reducing reaction times must
not be allowed to work on or with the fixed ladder.
2.5.2 Installation
The fixed ladder must be assembled and installed by specialist personnel.
Trained personnel are to be authorised by the operator. Such personnel are persons whose
professional training, expertise, experience and knowledge of the relevant regulations
allow them to carry out their tasks and to independently identify and avoid possible
hazards.
3 Technical description
3.1 Fixed ladder system
The fixed ladder system is designed according to the modular principle. Any desired
access height can be reached by combining matched elements.
The following materials are available: natural aluminium, anodised aluminium,
hot-dip galvanised steel, stainless steel.
3.2 Type-approval testing
The fixed ladder systems described below are type-tested and registered.
The fixed ladders and platforms meet the requirements of DIN 18799-1, DIN 14094-1
and EN ISO 14122.
3.3 Scope of delivery
The scope of delivery is customer-specific and depends on the individual order.
• Before starting assembly of the product, check that all components listed in the order
confirmation and on the delivery note have been supplied and are in perfect condition.
Use only original parts in good working condition to assemble the product.
