2 General safety regulations
2.1 Intended use
The fixed ladder is intended solely for the following applications:
• Fixed installation on buildings, machinery, silos etc. as a means of access to
the respective units
• Installation and use in accordance with the applicable standards DIN 18799-1,
DIN 18799-3, DIN 14094-1 or EN ISO 14122 Part 4
• All accessories are to be used only as specified in this manual.
2.2 Improper use
Hazards may arise as a result of improper use. In particular, improper use includes
the following:
• Unauthorised structural modifications or incorrectly executed repairs
• Combination with components from other manufacturers in ladder and
platform systems
• Use of single parts or the overall system for purposes for which they were not intended
• Use of parts other than those supplied or approved by ZARGES.
