6 Inspection and maintenance
6.1 Inspection
• Have the fixed ladders inspected for operational safety by a technical expert at
intervals appropriate for the operating conditions. Inspection must be carried out
at least once a year. The technical expert is authorised to carry out inspection
by the operator and must have taken part in the seminars prescribed by law in
the country concerned.
• Document performance of the inspection, the findings of the inspection and any
measures implemented as a result of the inspection. ZARGES recommends that
you keep an inspection log comprising fixed ladder check sheets, in which all data
concerning the fixed ladder system are entered. Fixed ladder check sheets are
available on the ZARGES home page.
• Once the fixed ladder has been inspected and deemed fit for use, attach the ZARGES
inspection plate (order no. 878384) to the product. The month and year in which
the next inspection is due must be clearly legible.
