Connecting the HXP 200 C illuminator

•
Switch off the Axio Zoom.V16 microscope and illumination.
•
Remove the existing tube (Fig. 4/

) from the body of the microscope by loosening the hexagon socket
screw (Fig. 4/
9
) with a ball-head screwdriver (SW 3 mm).
•
Dismantle the spacer tubes analogously as necessary.
The use of spacer tubes together with the Fluar Illuminator Z mot. is not recommended.
•
Remove dust caps from Fluar Illuminator Z mot. (Fig. 4/
5
).
•
Insert the Fluar Illuminator Z mot. into the dovetail mount of the microscope body (Fig. 4/

) and
hand-tighten the hexagon socket screw (Fig. 4/
9
) with the ball-head screwdriver.
The binocular ergo phototube Z (Fig. 4/
1
) should preferably be used for fluorescence
applications with the Fluar Illuminator Z mot.
When the ergo phototube Z is assembled for the first time, the shipping screw (hexagon socket
screw SW 3) on the underside must be screwed out. Keep the shipping screw in a secure place
for use at a later date.
•
Insert the tube (Fig. 4/

) into the dovetail mount of the Fluar Illuminator Z mot. (Fig. 4/
5
) and hand-
tighten the hexagon socket screw (Fig. 4/
6
) with the ball-head screwdriver.
To prevent eye injury due to scattered light, attach and swing in the anti-glare shield (Fig. 4/
7
)
on the right or left of the mount or revolving nosepiece (Fig. 4/
8
).
3.3
Connecting the HXP 200 C illuminator
Never pull the light guide out of the Fluar Illuminator when the HXP 200 C is in operation.
Mount the separately delivered HXP 200 lamp in the HXP 200 C illuminator before connecting
the latter (see manufacturer's instructions).
•
Remove the protective caps from each end of the HXP light guide (Fig. 4/
3
).
•
Insert the short end of the HXP light guide (Fig. 4/
3
) until it engages in the light guide socket on the
reverse side of the Fluar Illuminator Z mot. and secure with clamp screw SW 1 mm (Fig. 4/
2
).
•
Insert the long end of the HXP light guide (Fig. 4/
3
) into the light guide socket on the reverse side of the
HXP 200 C illumination unit (Fig. 4/
4
) and push until it engages (locks in automatically).
•
Use a power cable to connect the power input on the reverse side of the HXP 200 C illuminator with a
mains outlet.
