With no key presses,

TV turns itself off, or on by itself.
• Try unplugging your Entertainment Machine for a few minutes,
then plug it back in. (Don’t forget to reset the clock.)
• Check to see if the source equipment has been turned on.
• Make sure that the connections are secure on the back of your TV and on
the source equipment.
• Check to see if all the connections are secure.
• Look in the Audio mode menu to see if all the settings are correct.
• You might want to adjust the PIP picture settings under the PIP menu.
• Check that all the wires are connected properly.
• PIP source turned on?
• Look to see if the TV/VCR button on your VCR has the TV selected.
• Look to see if the TV/VCR button on your VCR has the TV selected.
• EZ Demo feature is operating. Turn EZ Demo off in the Special Features menu.
• Are Kid’s TV, Block, or Watch options set? Is Kid’s TV set to Off?
• Is Kid’sTV set to On, restricting programming which can be viewed to only 5 programs?
• Is Block option not allowing programs to appear?
• Parental Control set to block rating?
• Is Watch option set to tune TV to the program which started?
• Has Timer expired. Lock on/off turned Off? No hours set?
• Is Parental Control block on? Are Aux inputs blocked? Do you know the password to
unblock Parental Control or V-CHIP Plus+?
• Is Parental Control or V-Chip+ set to block programs with those ratings.
• Is PG set to be blocked in Parental Control? Reset restrictions to PG-13, then PG pro
grams will appear.
• Sleep Timer set to turn TV off.
• Is the On/Off Timer set to turn TV on and off at preset times?
• Power Failure?.
Menu options can’t be
changed or selected.
No picture or sound
when any non-cable source
is selected.
Weak or no Stereo Sound
when using a stereo VCR.
The PIP inset is black or
lacks contrast when VIDEO 1
is the PIP source.
The PIP inset is “snow” when
the source is Antenna/Cable,
Video 1, or Video 2.
There is no picture in the
PIP inset when using VIDEO 1
for the PIP and Antenna/Cable
for the main picture.
