ADJUSTMENT INSTRUCTION
These instructions are applied to only SP-02PC chassis.
Notes
1.Because this is not a hot chassis, it is not necessary to use
an isolation transformer.
However, the use of isolation transformer will help protect
test instrument.
2.Adjustment must be done in the correct order.
3.The receiver must be operated for about 60 minutes proir to
the adjustment.
Pre-heatrun must be operated receiving moving pictures or
100% white pattern.

Never operate the SET over 10 minutes with still picture
because a fluorescent material may get damage.
1. ADC OFFSET Adjustment
1-1. Preliminary steps
(1) Supply power on TV and set the TV “Power On” state.
(2) Receive the SMPTE PATTERN signal.
Input signal electric field intensity over 65dBuV.
1-2. Adjustment
(1) Select INSTART key on the Remote Control and then
select “0. ADC OFFSET Set” with key No. 0.
(2) The screen is converted into DOUBLE WINDOW PIP
automatically and CH 2 is changed into 02CH(SMPTE
PATTERN).
(3) Convert to first status automatically after adjustment.
2. Y-DRIVE Adjustment
2-1. Test Equipment
(1) Oscilloscope(1CH) : 1EA
- Frequency Band : Over 20MHz
- Input Impedence : Over 1M
Ω
- Input Capacitance : below 30pF
- Max Input Voltage : 50V
(2) Remote Control
2-2. Preliminary steps
(1) Supply power on TV and set the TV “Power On” state.
(2) Select “8. Y-DRIVE Adj” with No. 8 key after selecting
INSTART key.
So, the channel is changed to 13CH DW(TWIN PICTURE)
automatically.
2-3. Adjustment
(1) Connect oscilloscope probe to C513 JIG POINT of PCB
bottom.
(2) Change data with +, - key on the Remote Control.
(3) Make the LEVEL of Main/Sub signal equal.
3. Raster Slant/Focus Adjustment
3-1. Preliminary steps
(1) Select INSTART key on the Remote Control and then
select “3. RASTER Adj” with key No. 3.
(2) Adjust Focus/Electric focus temporarily.
(3) Set the convergence on reset.

When select 3. RASTER Adj mode after entering adjustment
mode with INSTART key, the convergence reset and pattern
is displayed and then preparation for adjustment complete.
3-2. Adjustment
(1) Make Green raster using lens cover.
(2) Rotate Green DY and tilt the screen like figure below.
(3) Make 2 color raster with Red or Blue and Green.
(4) Coincide the slope of red and blue raster to that of green.
Note) 1. When adjusting raster slope, loose the DY and fasten
itafter adjusting.
2. Never rotate and adjust the fixed DY without loosing it.
4. Beam Alignment Adjustment
4-1. Test Equipment
Video Test Generator(801GF) or Signal Generator can
produce NTSC DOT pattern(408NPS or 5518/5418
equipment)
4-2. Preliminary steps
(1) Heat run over 60 minutes.
(2) Pre-adjust Raster slope,Raster position, Centering Magner
& Lens focus.
(3) Check if the Magnet is located 50mm from the end of CRT.
(4) In case of using 801GF : Receive #13 DOT Pattern of
VGA mode(Format #5) through PC input terminal.
In case of using NTSC generator : Receive Dot signal
through external input terminal.
