EISA NE3200 Ethernet Host Adapter
The EISA NE3200 Host Adapter is designed to operate in
standard EISA class computers. It can be used in a network
that uses either the thick AUI (15 pin) cable or the thin
coaxial cable (BNC - Cheapernet).
To use one host adpater install the board in slot 1. To use
two host adapters, install the primary board in slot 1 and
the secondary board in slot 2.
System Configuration
Use the ECU disk that comes with the system to configure
the NE 3200 Ethernet host adapter.
Note: The following procedure assumes that the host
adapter has already been installed in slot 1 or slot 2.
To perform system configuration, do the following:
1. Put the ECU disk in drive A and power on the system.
2. Press ESC to continue.
3. At the main menu select “Configure Computer.”
4. At the next menu select “View or Edit Details.”
Scroll the screen display using the page down key until the entry
for the NE 3200 Ethernet Host Adapter is displayed (Primary
adapter - Slot 1 or Secondary adapter - Slot 2
Note: To select a setting, move the cursor to highlight the
desired entry and then press ENTER.
Select the Novel NE 3200 Bus master Ethernet configuration
as follows:
Slot 1 - Novel NE 3200 Bus Master Ethernet
NE3200 Interrupt Selection..................IRQ5 Edge Triggered
*NE 3200 Connector Selected...............Cheapernet (BNC)
