Troubleshooting
Symptom
No power.
No picture on the LCD or
TV (including video from
another unit).
No sound.
The DVD player does not
start playback.
No response when buttons
are pressed.
The remote control does
not work properly.
Correction
• Plug the power cord into the wall outlet securely.
• Recharge the battery.
• Connect the video cable into the jacks securely.
• Set the AV IN/DVD switch correctly.
- While you are playing a disc, set the AV IN/DVD
switch to DVD mode
- While you are viewing video from other equipment,
set the AV IN/DVD switch to AV IN mode.
• Select a LCD mode other than OFF.
• Adjust the brightness.
• Select the appropriate video input mode on the TV so
the picture from the DVD player appears on the
screen.
• Select the correct input mode of the audio receiver so
you can listen to the sound from the DVD player.
• Connect the audio cable into the jacks securely.
• Insert a playable disc. (Check the disc type, color
system and Regional code.)
• Cancel the Rating function or change the rating level.
• “
” may appear on the screen during operation.
• Operate the remote control within about 23 ft (7 m).
Cause
• The power cord is disconnected.
• The battery is discharged.
• The video cable is not connected securely.
• The AV IN/DVD switch is not set correctly.
• LCD mode is set to OFF.
• Check that Brightness control is set to “–”.
• The TV is not set to receive DVD signal output.
• The equipment connected with the audio cable is
not set to receive DVD signal output.
• The audio cables are not connected
securely.
• An unplayable disc is inserted.
• The Rating level is set.
• Some discs prohibit certain operations.
• The remote control is too far from the
DVD player.
