General notes
■
Read these instructions carefully right up to the
end!
■
Water meters are precision instruments. Protect
against shock and vibration. Store frost-free.
■
The sealing surface and thread is equipped with
protection cap.
■
Check and ensure before beginning the instal-
lation:
•
That the sealing surfaces are flat and free from
damage such as notches, grooves, etc.
•
That all indications on the dial are readable.
•
The meter fits in type, size, temperature and
pressure rating to the installation and metering
point.
■
For polluted water we recommend installing of a
filter or strainer in the inlet; before the meter is
be installed.
■
The meter should always be installed at the lo-
west possible point of the piping as well as frost
protected, to prevent the accumulation of air and
damages.
■
The water meter must be installed into the pipe-
line free of any of mechanical forces or tensions.
■
Water meters must be operating completely filled
with water - for wet dial meters this includes also
the counter!
■
The meter must be protected with appropriate
measures against pressure shocks in the pipe-
line.
■
In case of frost empty completely and shut off the
installation (including the meter), if necessary,
dismount the meter.
■
The meter must always be easily accessible and
legible. The dial and the indications regarding the
conformity/metrology must be visible and reada-
ble at any time.
■
We recommend that the installation points on the
pipeline should be secured with a seal against
unauthorized dismounting. The seal should not
be removable or loosened without visible dama-
ge.
■
The installation has to be done by qualified pro
-
fessional personnel.
Installation:
1.
Close valves upstream and downstream of the
meter.
2.
Release pressure at the installation point.
3.
Dismount existing meters or meter blanks.
4.
Use only new and flawless sealing material.
5.
Check the sealing surfaces for damage.
6.
Ensure that the seals don‘t fall out during instal-
lation.
7.
Screw in the meter by hand and tighten it with a
suitable installation wrench.
8.
Open valves carefully and avoid pressure
shocks.
9.
Check installation for leakage.
