Prevent Battery Explosions
Prevent ACID Burns
For adequate safety always;
1. Fill batteries in a well-ventilated area.
2. Wear eye protection and acid proof hand gloves.
3. Avoid breathing direct fumes when electrolyte is added.
4. Do not add water to electrolyte as it may splash off causing severe burns.
If acid is spilled on a person:
1. In case of contact with skin, rinse the affected area with water.
2. In case of contact with eyes, rinse eyes with water for 10 - 15 minutes.
Always seek medical advice.
Battery Disconnect
Keep all flammable materials, open flames or other
sources of ignition (such as sparks) away from the battery.
The gas released from the battery during charging may be
explosive. Never attempt to check the battery charge by
connecting its poles with a conductive object.
HODP021
Sulfuric acid in battery electrolyte is poisonous. It is strong
enough to burn skin, cause holes in clothing and cause
blindness if found entry into eyes.
HODP022
1. When working with your tractors electrical
components you must first disconnect the battery
