11.2.5 Referencing the motor encoder
Referencing is used to determine the reference position of the gripper fingers.
The reference measurement is determined without gripper jaws installed. If you want to determine a reference position of
the product with installed gripper jaws, you have to determine the reference position and enter it on your own.
NOTICE
An approach over the end stop can result in jamming of the gripper fingers.
From the middle position, the product can be moved 30 mm in each direction.

Do not exceed the permitted operating parameters while extending.

The product can only be opened mechanically and by Zimmer Customer Service.

Move the product to the middle position in jog mode via the
IndraWorks Ds
software.
Ö
The middle position is reached if both outer edges of the gripper
fingers close flush.
►
Disable the release for the drive control unit.
►
Reference the product in the middle position.

The travel range can be limited in mm via the
IndraWorks Ds
software.

In the navigation pane, click
Motor, Brake,
Measurement Systems
.

Click
Motor encoder
.
►
Click
Motor Encoder Position reference
.
►
Enter the middel position in the
Reference
measurement field: 30 mm
►
Click the
Set Absolute Position
button.

The product references itself to the entered
reference measurement.

Move the product in Easy Startup mode
after the reference position has been
adopted.
