10.1 Safety notes
DANGER:
Risk of fatal injury due to actuation of connection A (release tool) while the motor spindle is rotating
Actuation of connection A is prohibited while the motor spindle is rotating!
Ö
If compressed air is supplied during operation, a loss/ejection of the tool cannot be ruled out, which would
result in personal injury or material damage!
Ö
The machine manufacturer must ensure that connection A is absolutely not supplied with compressed air
while the motor spindle is in operation (e.g. two valves redundantly connected in series).
Ö
The tool should be released for the tool exchange only when the motor spindle is at a standstill.
Ö
Otherwise, the consequence would be the destruction of the motor spindle.
CAUTION:
Health hazard and potential material damage during initial commissioning
Safety units can fail both on the motor spindle and on the machine or system.
Ö
All superordinate safety units must be carefully inspected to ensure that they are working properly before
switching on the motor spindle.
Faulty or uncontrolled movement of the motor spindle cannot be ruled out during initial commissioning.
Ö
Proceed with extra caution during initial commissioning!
Inadequate safety conditions result in a health hazard and material damage
Removing safety devices during the commissioning of the machine can cause serious injury.
Ö
First bring the machine properly out of operation.
Immediately after completion of commissioning:
Ö
Return the safety unit to its original or correct condition and inspect it.
CAUTION:
Material damage caused by an overheating motor spindle
The motor spindle must always be able to rotate freely during start-up.
Brief overheating can cause material damage!
Ö
Manually check that the shaft turns freely.
Material damage caused by an overheating motor spindle
The motor spindle is able to achieve its rated power only within a certain ambient and coolant temperature
range. Ignoring this requirement will cause an overheating hazard for the motor spindle.
Ö
Ensure that there is adequate cooling air, air circulation, coolant properties and pressure circulation.
Ö
Do not install any additional heat sources on the motor spindle.
Hot surfaces
During commissioning, the surfaces of some products may become hot.
Ö
Parts that are sensitive to temperature must not make contact with these products or be attached to them.
Ö
Touch these products only while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
INFORMATION:
All power supply lines must be checked for any damage!
The bending radius of the power supply lines must not fall below the permitted value!
Ö
Cables or other power supply lines that are hanging freely must be affixed!
Ö
Fixation should prevent any excessive movement loads or crushing.
