Definitions of maintenance work
The specified maintenance work on the motor spindle must be performed in order to ensure failure-free operation.
This maintenance work includes the inspection, maintenance and overhaul of the motor spindle. The maintenance plan
must be taken into account in the maintenance plan required by the operator for the entire system.
All maintenance work must be documented. The maintenance plan helps support the documentation. The operator alone is
responsible for documenting the maintenance work.
12.3.1 Visual inspection of the motor spindle
The visual inspection merely includes visually inspecting component parts and their function.
If any irregularities or damage are identified during the visual inspection, a more detailed check of the component parts
must be carried out.
12.3.2 Inspection of the motor spindle
The inspection includes checking the motor spindle. When performing the inspection, the actual status of the motor spindle
must be determined and documented.
The inspection must be carried out at the specified intervals.
12.3.3 Maintenance of the motor spindle
Maintenance work is intended to allow the components to wear out more slowly or, in the best case scenario, prevent such
wear.
Motor spindle maintenance must be carried out according to the specified intervals.
Maintenance of the motor spindle involves the following work steps:
•
Cleaning work
•
Maintenance work
•
Verification of the settings
•
Acquisition of the measuring values
•
Inspection, adjustment, readjustment, lubrication, preservation
•
Checking the fill levels
12.3.4 Overhaul of the motor spindle
Despite all maintenance work and inspections, signs of wear will occur on the motor spindle after a certain time. Therefore,
any faulty part must be replaced during maintenance work and inspections.
The actual state must be documented and the nominal state must be re-established.
The overhaul concludes the complete maintenance cycle and ensures the life cycle of the motor spindle.
