IV–5-Toilet
You may not always be able to use the full capability, it will depend on the trim, loading, and
position of the filling and draining points (if any).
Keep yourself informed about local regulations for respecting the environment, and comply
with codes of good practice.
Comply with the International regulations for preventing pollution in the marine environment
(Marpol).
Operation of the system for retaining black water.
The principle of use of the system is described in the attached outline drawing.
Using the toilet:
- open the seawater inlet valve, located on the side of the toilet, by turning the handle through
a quarter turn before actuating the electric pump,
- press the black button of the electric pump, on the bulkhead next to the toilet, in order to
operate the flushing system,
- close the seawater inlet valve when you have finished using the toilet.
Draining the black water tank:
There are two options: either discharge into the sea or discharge by pumping in harbour.
-1- Discharge into the sea (see local regulations for discharge distances from the coast):
- open the large black valve located in the starboard after equipment space on the hull by
turning the handle through a quarter turn,
- press the black switch on the bulkhead, at the forward end of the equipment space. Continue
to press the switch until the tank is empty,
- don’t forget to close the valve when the tank is empty.
