Turn Bluetooth On or Off
Use the settings menu to enable or disable
your phone’s Bluetooth capabilities.
1. From the home screen, touch
>
Settings
>
Bluetooth
.
2. Touch the on/off slider to turn Bluetooth on
or off.
NOTE:
An even easier way to turn Bluetooth on or off
is with the toggle menu in the notifications
panel. Drag the status bar down to display the
notifications screen and then touch
Bluetooth
to turn Bluetooth off or on.
NOTE:
Turn off Bluetooth when not in use to
conserve battery power, or in places where
using a wireless phone is prohibited, such as
aboard an aircraft and in hospitals.
The Bluetooth Settings Menu
The Bluetooth settings menu gives you
access to information and controls for your
phone’s Bluetooth feature.
NOTE:
Bluetooth must be on in order to search for
devices, rename the phone name, change
visibility status, and set visibility timeout.
From the home screen, touch
>
Settings
>
Bluetooth
.
Touch >
Refresh
to search for
other visible in-range Bluetooth
devices.
Touch >
Rename
this device
to
rename your phone for Bluetooth
access.
Touch >
Show received files
to
view all files you have received via
Bluetooth.
Connect a Bluetooth Headset or
Car Kit
You can listen to music over a Bluetooth
stereo headset, or have hands-free
conversations using a compatible Bluetooth
headset or car kit. It’s the same procedure to
set up stereo audio and hands-free devices.
To listen to music with your headset or car kit,
the headset or car kit must support the A2DP
Bluetooth profile.
1. From the home screen, touch
>
Settings
>
Bluetooth
.
2. If Bluetooth is not switched on, touch the
On/Off slider to turn Bluetooth on.
3. Make sure that the headset is
discoverable, so that your phone can find
the headset. Refer to the instructions that
came with the headset to find out how to
set it to discoverable mode.
4. Touch >
Refresh
. Your phone will start
to scan for Bluetooth devices within range.
