Connecting to the Internet
Ways of Connecting to the Internet
Your phone’s networking capabilities allow you to access the Internet or your corporate
network at work through wire line and wireless connections.
You can use the default connection settings to connect to the Internet by: Wi-Fi, GPRS/3G,
EDGE, or Dial-up.
Notes:
You can also add and set up the following connections. Please contact your
service provider for more detailed information.
•
VPN: A VPN connection is used to access your corporate network by using an existing
Internet connection.
•
Proxy: A Proxy connection is used to access the Internet by using an existing connection
to your corporate or WAP network.
Wi-Fi Connection
If the wireless carrier enables Wi-Fi on your device, you may be able to access the
Internet when you are away from your computer.
Set up a Wi-Fi connection
1. Tap
>Settings>Connections
tab
>Wi-Fi

2. Select a network you prefer to connect.
Note:
If you select a secure network, you may have to enter the key that is provided by
the network administrator.
Turn on/off the Wi-Fi connection
Wi-Fi is turned off when you fist start your device. To minimize drain on the battery,
Wi-Fi is turned off automatically every time you power off the device. You must turn it on
when you want to use it.
