System
37.1 Overview
Use the system screens to configure general Zyxel Device settings.
37.1.1 What You Can Do in this Chapter
• Use the
System > Host Name
) to configure a unique name for
the Zyxel Device in your network.
• Use the
System > USB Storage
) to configure the settings for the
connected USB devices.
• Use the
System > Date/Time
screen (see
) to configure the date and time for
the Zyxel Device.
• Use the
System > Console Speed
screen (see
) to configure the console port
speed when you connect to the Zyxel Device via the console port using a terminal emulation
program.
• Use the
System > DNS
screen (see
) to configure the DNS (Domain Name
System) server used for mapping a domain name to its corresponding IP address and vice versa.
• Use the
System > WWW
) to configure settings for HTTP or HTTPS
access to the Zyxel Device and how the login and access user screens look.
• Use the
System > SSH
screen (see
) to configure SSH (Secure SHell) used to
securely access the Zyxel Device’s command line interface. You can specify which zones allow SSH
access and from which IP address the access can come.
• Use the
System > TELNET
) to configure Telnet to access the Zyxel
Device’s command line interface. Specify which zones allow Telnet access and from which IP address
the access can come.
• Use the
System > FTP
) to specify from which zones FTP can be
used to access the Zyxel Device. You can also specify from which IP addresses the access can come.
You can upload and download the Zyxel Device’s firmware and configuration files using FTP.
• Your Zyxel Device can act as an SNMP agent, which allows a manager station to manage and
monitor the Zyxel Device through the network. Use the
System > SNMP
screen (see
) to configure SNMP settings, including from which zones SNMP can be used to access the
Zyxel Device. You can also specify from which IP addresses the access can come.
• Use the
Auth. Server
screen (
) to configure the Zyxel Device to operate as a
RADIUS server.
• Use the
Notification > Mail Server
) to configure the Zyxel Device to
operate as a RADIUS server.
• Use the
Notification > SMS
screen (
) to turn on the SMS service on the Zyxel
Device in order to send dynamic guest account information in text messages and authorization for
VPN tunnel access to a secured network.
• Use the
System > Language
) to set a language for the Zyxel
Device’s Web Configurator screens.
