Flag
This indicates the route status.
U-Up:
The route is up.
!-Reject:
The route is blocked and will force a route lookup to fail.
G-Gateway:
The route uses a gateway to forward traffic.
H-Host:
The target of the route is a host.
R-Reinstate:
The route is reinstated for dynamic routing.
D-Dynamic (redirect):
The route is dynamically installed by a routing daemon or redirect.
M-Modified (redirect):
The route is modified from a routing daemon or redirect.
Metric
The metric represents the "cost of transmission". A router determines the best route for
transmission by choosing a path with the lowest "cost". The smaller the number, the lower the
"cost".
Interface
This indicates the name of the interface through which the route is forwarded.
brx
indicates a LAN interface where x can be 0~3 to represent LAN1 to LAN4 respectively.
ethx
indicates an Ethernet WAN interface using IPoE or in bridge mode.
ppp0
indicates a WAN interface using PPPoE.
wlx
indicates a wireless interface where x can be 0~1. For some models,
wl1
indicates 5 GHz
wireless interface, and
wl0
indicates 2.4 GHz wireless interface. For the other models,
wl1
indicates 5 GHz wireless interface, and
wl0
indicates 2.4 GHz wireless interface.
