8.6.1 Management IP Addresses
The Swit ch needs an I P addr ess for it t o be m anaged over t he net wor k. The fact or y default I P
addr ess is 192.168.1.1. The subnet m ask specifies t he net w or k num ber por t ion of an I P addr ess.
The fact ory default subnet m ask is 255.255.255.0.
You can configur e up t o 64 I P addr esses which are used t o access and m anage t he Swit ch fr om t he
por t s belonging t o t he pr e- defined VLAN( s) .
Not e: You m ust configur e a VLAN fir st . Each VLAN can only have one m anagem ent I P
addr ess.
