11.2 Static Multicast Forwarding Configuration
Use this screen to manually define the ports through which multicast traffic with a specified multicast
MAC/IP address and a specified VLAN ID can be forwarded through the Switch.
Note: The Switch will do the following for incoming multicast frames:
• Match the incoming IP multicast to the rules configured in the
Static Multicast Forwarding By IP
table
(see
). If a match is found, it will forward the multicast stream to specific
ports.
• Match the incoming layer-2 multicast to the rules configured in the
Static Multicast Forwarding By
MAC
). If a match is found, it will forward the multicast stream to
specific ports.
• If no match is found, it will either flood the multicast frames to all ports or drop them depending on
your setting in the
