PORT
DESCRIPTION
PON Ports
Connect a port to an Optical Network Unit (ONU) using a fiber optic cable with an
SC/UPC connector.
To connect more than one ONU to a port, use an optical splitter.
RJ-45 Gigabit
Ethernet Ports
(OLT-1308H)
Connect these uplink ports to a computer, a server, a switch or router. The port
number corresponds to the PON port number. For example, Gigabit Ethernet port
1 is the uplink port for PON port 1.
Note: The Gigabit Ethernet ports connect at 1000 Mbps only.
Connect only Gigabit Ethernet devices to these ports.
Gigabit/Mini-GBIC
Ports (OLT-1308)
Connect these switch ports to a computer, a server, a switch or router.
CONSOLE
Only connect this port if you want to configure the OLT using the command line
interface (CLI) via the console port.
Note: On the OLT-1308, the CONSOLE port is on the rear
panel.
MGMT
Connect to a computer using an RJ-45 Ethernet cable for local configuration of the
OLT.
